What anime are people watching? I’m currently watching The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again, based on the manga. I need to catch up on GeGeGe No Kitaro as well.

I have Grave of the Fireflies waiting to be viewed.

I watch Battle Angel Alita and Space Adventure Cobra from time to time.

I think I should let you know, though you probably already know this, that Grave of the Fireflies is going to be kind of depressing… that’s the one Miyazaki/Ghibli film I’m not sure I can ever watch. I love all of the other Miyazaki/Ghibli stuff, though.

Yes, I'm waiting to be in the right frame of mind to watch it.
  • Spirited Away one of my all time favorites.

I also loved Samurai Champloo all those years ago.

Not really up on anything current though.

I also loved Samurai Champloo all those years ago.

Son2 liked anime when at school and we watched Samurai Champloo.

We also watched Genesis Evangelion, Ghost In The Shell, Initial D, Porco Rosso and others,
  • Currently watching Berserk, which is quite raunchy for a non hentai show, and still plodding through Bleach. I have the last series of Attack on Titan to watch but I've pretty much list interest.

I prefer Totoro to Spirited Away, but enjoy most of the Studio Ghibli films. Except the Earthsea adaptation.

If you get the chance and you're in the UK, the RSC stage show of Totoro is absolutely stunning.
  • Wow, that looks like a total delight!! Totoro and Ponyo have been longtime favourites in our house.

I have all the studio Ghibli films and the very worst one is earwig and the witch (CGI). directed by Goro Miyazaki he does have the talent of his father. look it upon Wikipedia even Disney did not want their name linked to it.

My daughters have organised family anime watching time in the evenings: so far we have watched Frieren (an elf mage who has outlived the humans in her adventuring party) and are now watching Spy x Family (a comedy in which a spy and an assassin pretend to get married without knowing the other's identities and adopt a young child they don't know is a telepath).
