My son pays for a helper to come twice a month and drive me places. I no longer drive. So, today it's off to the charity shop to donate some too-big clothing and some no-longer-used drinking glasses. Next, it's off to the bank for some cash, and then on to the store for food. Next, I need a new plant for the garden spot that was destroyed by the birds, who ate my basil. Finally, a stop by my favorite lunch spot for a salad to go. I know you are thinking, but she just went to the store. I know, but I'll be too tired to make anything. This afternoon, it will be nap time.
Having successfully put up my new deckchair (which had been in a friend's attic for 20 years!) tomorrow will be relaxing in my garden with a good book.
I've had a Do Nothing day. It has been very warm and enervating (we're due thunderstorms tomorrow). I just about managed to put a loaf in the breadmaker. Finished the book I was reading. Knitted a few rows of a jumper. Painted a still life of a pot and two fruit. Now about to go make kedgeree for dinner.
Sung in two concerts, one at lunch time. An hour at home to refresh and change, then bus to the city for second concert at 6pm. Both preceded by rehearsals. Delays on buses on return.
Rest tomorrow.
Long walk
Laundry
Work emails and admin
Finished the draft of a paper
Cooked tea - chicken and mushroom stroganoff with noodles
Sat in garden with a glass of sparkling wine talking to Mochi the cat
Ate cherries from the tree
Arranged the flowers which arrived this afternoon
As little housework as I can get away with today, as I am exhausted after two concerts and a poor night’s sleep.
Necessary shopping has been done.
Washing is on.
Bed to be remade. Hoovering to be done.
Possibly Open Gardens in nearby village later.
Invited a friend for coffee, so I could ceremonially hand over my spare key (in case I am ever daft enough to lock myself out).
Then psyched myself up to book flights to Cyprus to see my mum. Last time, I got a local travel agent to do it for me, but this time I was able to do it all myself.
Needing a little lie down now!
A bit of a nothing day here. Slept late after a restless day and only managed to walk one cat before the weather turned damp.
However, did some kitchen drawer tidying, so quite pleased with that.
Cheery husband made soup for lunch which was delicious
Lots of wasted youtube time, but it was a wet day!!
Opened and washed a new flat sheet purchased in the bargain section of the Swedish shop, yesterday.
Hopefully more productive tomorrow
Our neighbour gave us a red snapper they caught yesterday, so today it's making a red snapper meal for dinner.
Also, getting rid of the algae that grew in the pool while we were overseas.
Cleaning my share of the house. This week it's the private rooms.
Checking on our mobile home library and stamping new books to place on the shelf. Tossing old magazines. Taking my son for his three-week-late birthday lunch. Stuff kept getting in the way. Trash pick-up date is tomorrow, so ready the cans. Pay bills. Yet another exciting day in the life of Graven Image.

[pious answer] Both of you: either God let you win thus winning was in accordance with His will or God won because that's what you needed.
heh. It was rather like Jacob's wrestling match, but a lot less dignified.
As long as you can walk OK and don't require medical attention for a thigh wound you probably got off light.

I am going to be stuck at home for the rest of the week so I have a long list for those days.
