  • @Puzzler, I had a day of routine going out the window too. I don't know how, but I think I've managed to get all the things done, just not in the order I expected. I have one outstanding task, which is to wash the bath towels, but that can wait until tomorrow.

I fitted in a walk around the neighbourhood, so I think that was a win and more important than keeping to the strict routine of doing things. However, I hope normal routine will resume tomorrow as I prefer to do my jobs in the morning and have free time in the afternoon. Today I had some free time this morning as I waited for a phone call to be returned, but everything has been done and that's the main thing!!
  • I've been out of routine all week and trying to get back on track has been a challenge. Top of the list is wash the towels!!! So far I've managed to achieve

Walk the cats - only one today, the other one was asleep
    Wash towels and sheets
Mending socks, trying a couple of different methods
Put away paperwork for son's medical appointments
Text my friend (child having a procedure today)
    Load dishwasher

I hope I might sweep some leaves a bit later this afternoon, but am having some downtime right now.

Zero Waste stall this morning - I got some lovely yellow roses thrown out by the Co-op, and one lady had brought her surplus courgettes.
So I've just been looking up recipes to do with courgettes, and the next step is going out to buy the extra ingredients.
This afternoon, I'm leading a tour around the local ancient monuments, after which I will probably have to have a little lie down!

I’ve realised that I am quite thrown if something in the plans changes, even if they are just my own plans. Maybe I need to put less on my Today To Do list.
I have a long term list, a by a certain date list, and a Today list. But things happen, or don’t happen, or I am just lazy.
This morning I visited the exhibition I had thought was the previous day, so at least I got something right. I met several people I knew and some old friends too. Interesting conversations.
I also picked up my prescription.
Must do a top up shop and my daily quota of music prep.
Anything else will be a bonus.
  • Our neighbor is holding his monthly neighborhood brunch in the yard this morning. All are welcome to stop by, and a tip jar is available to help cover the cost of food. He started this last summer, and it's a great hit, as we're all getting to meet each other. Next, my son is coming to visit from Southern California for the weekend, so that will be fun. A very social weekend for me, who lives alone.

Getting ready for my sister to visit today, so hoovering.
Also I bought a new plain brown lightshade, which will do until I find something more to my taste.
  • Write a sermon, which is bound to go over like a lead balloon.
Fortunately, I'm not preaching it, so no matter.

    Make 3 dozen Cornish pasties.

Get flowers in case the lotus aren't ready for tomorrow.

Take a nap (tried, didn't happen.) :disappointed:

Fix 50 million capitalization mistakes in a single manuscript (grrrrrr).

    Lunch at Japanese place.
