The website for my new study module appears to have gone live earlier than I expected and has made me change my plans for the day. The course doesn’t start til September but I am very excited by the prospect; I have already done my background reading over the summer in preparation. It is the dissertation year of a Masters in early modern history, and my dissertation proposal is on the professionalisation of mad-doctoring in the 18th century (mad-doctoring being the archaic term used then).
My list:
Mental health walk
Work emails and admin - nothing happening
Write short report on my annual appraisal and send to my manager
Read through new course overview and assessment
Start new reflective study journal
Tidy hall and sweep kitchen floor
Supermarket van arrived as I posted my earlier list. All put away.
A mixture of tomatoes have been picked.
I was intending to have another go at wrestling the duvet & pillows for the spare bed into its plastic storage bag & shoehorn it into the drawer under the sofa bed, but I seem to have done something to my back, so that has been postponed yet again.
The to do list now only has three things on it:
Make & eat lunch, including some of the tomatoes (b'fast was eaten after the shopping was put away)
Have a nap
Get washing in, fold it and put it away.
What happens after that will depend on how my back feels after the nap, but as Mr RoS is going out I will be preparing dinner early. Would have been salad again, but now probably pasta, as today is chillier than the last few.
You have done heaps today @Climacus!!! I'm feeling a bit slack in comparison!
Oh, you have a lot on your plate! I have days of busyness and days of laziness like today.
Walk dog.
Complete mandatory training for volunteer work (helping adults with literacy and numeracy)
Ring GP to get a long appointment for a Mental Health Care Plan
Mental health walk
Write short draft dissertation summary for studies
Wait in for carpet fitter to measure up
Plan surviving the chaos of next 2-3 weeks with Mr Heavenly
Read book on 18th century social context
(Chaos: Master Heavenly the Younger is coming home for 2 weeks this weekend to do jury service and he is either staying in a room with no furniture or in a room with 2 lots of furniture. We are going to a festival half way through his stay, we will need to return to collect him and we haven’t organised a cat sitter yet as we have no idea when he will be off jury duty. Mr Heavenly is going to the US on business the second week and Master Heavenly the Younger needs returning to York to go on a holiday as soon as he is back. Meanwhile, Master Heavenly the Elder will need to move between different student accommodations at an undetermined date in early September, or possibly even move home for a week with his stuff. We have no idea where he or his stuff might be put up.)

Made considerably more Kenneth Williams by the balls I made of vediting the first word, which should be "seeing"....
I'm imagining this as an immensely mindful form of proof-reading.
🤣 I'm imagining I should never try to post from a phone!
Hmmph. And there Ought To Be Laws banning skin coloured form fitting jogging outfits. "It wasn't my fault I missed the stop sign, yer honour!"
