Yes, but these are exactly the same except for the colour of the fabric! Same style, product code, size ordered but a different colour.
Could be the mysterious Orient, I reckon sh!t quality control.
  • I have given up ordering clothes from random online sources, as I've been disappointed so many times in the last year or so.
Nowadays I stick to businesses I've had a mail-order history with in the past.

... and people wonder why I still wear the clothes of my yoof.
  • Hell is too comfortable for the evil swine who yesterday penetrated all the security programs and hacked our email address list, sending a spoof - but convincing - party invitation to everyone. I got it from the session clerk of our church who was unaware she had sent it to me. It may even have reached one or two shipmates, to whom I helplessly apologise. I hope is just coincidence that our bank account was hacked around the same time. If not, then we are in real trouble.
  • ... and people wonder why I still wear the clothes of my yoof.

Sadly the clothes of my youth have not fitted me for many years, and the ones I have been wearing for the past 10 years are becoming rags in increasing numbers.
I had hoped they would 'see me out', but I appear to be outliving many of my possessions - particularly underwear !

I am currently wearing items from my yoof which fit perfectly. I think I got them when I was 19, and here I am, still wearing them.

Admittedly they are earrings. But still! They still fit!
  • [Ahem!] Not for me.

However, I would be able to wear clothes from my younger days, if I had them, as I weigh slightly less now than I did when I was 25.

I can now, at 68, wear the clothes I had when I was half that age, but I put on weight since then until I was in hospital for three months. In the interim all my clothes from my thirties had been disposed of and I now have a new wardrobe! A few ties are only memories of those days.

A tailorette (seamstress) I've worked with for many years, professionally well trained, tells me there can be discrepancies in the same factory, even between people working side by side: one piece with exact specs, while another item made by someone else will be slightly, or quite a bit, different.

Luckily, I've rarely had that myself with some of the more stylish clothing, like Brook Taverner (UK), but it clearly can happen. With them, returns are possible.

I imagine companies with less stringent QC and with less experienced, i.e. cheaper labourers, will have wildly bigger variations.

Really sorry to hear of the hassles. - Annoying!

    Absolutely!
  • I bought a pair of jeans from a well-known and respected High Street store. They fit well.

Later I bought another pair of the same pattern and didn't bother to try them on. That was a mistake as they seem to be quite bit bigger. A mistake in labelling, perhaps?

I have the body of a man half my age.

I really must get rid of it before the neighbours wonder what the smell is.

A while back I bought a pair of navy blue trousers in that well known bastion of British sartorial good sense M&S, and they were so perfect I went back and got a (supposedly identical) black pair.

Were they perfect? They were not: even a pair two sizes bigger wouldn't go round me. I was Not Pleased.

Yes, it's amazing how fast one gains weight, isn't it...! :)

    <gets coat, ... but that doesn't fit... grrr>
  • I have size medium, large, and extra large clothing in my closet. They are all the same size and fit.

At parkrun when we hand out the volunteer hi-viz vests we say that they come in the two army sizes - too large or too small.

This is a problem I've been encountering in M and S for quite some time.
Whenever I want to try something on I have to take several of the same size in a chosen item in the hope of finding one that might fit.
    Somewhat frustrating!
  • I am having a grumpy week dealing with Cheery son's cancer survivorship issues.

Endocrinology last week with a new medication to be started (which I've only just remembered I need to buy and get started). A minimum of people have quite bad side effects which we have to watch for -urk.

Early this month he went for a Ophthalmology appointment as Optometrist not happy with his vision, which might mean he can't continue driving lessons. Had to pay for GP to get referral to Ophthalmology and then pay more for that appointment, lots more. I think we have to get another form from that man in about 6 months (bler)..

GP has now completed form for driving (ok to continue) and chasing up a report from the Eye man. After getting home from GP son says he now has pain in his lower ribs and so yesterday back to another GP (ours was full up), who has had an x-ray done, given a referral for a Colonoscopy man and on instructions from the Oncologist a liver ultrasound needs to be done.

X Ray done, Ultrasound booked, Dentist postponed because I'm fed up with appointments and we await the results of the X Ray. It never rains but pours!!!

I felt happy putting away all the document wallets for the specialists and only leaving out a couple of bits of paper to work with. Heavens, bring on next week!

This afternoon, as I left the office, I was none too pleased with a tourist who used a public water feature to splash water around indiscriminately, covering the front of my cream coloured trousers.
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
Are we talking about an adult tourist??? 😳
  • SipechSipech Shipmate
We are. There was a miniature tourist next to them.
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
    That's no excuse!
  • Wesley JWesley J Circus Host
    Is outrage!

Coming over 'ere, splashing water around indiscriminately, covering the front of trousers not belonging to the splasher, but to the splashee!
  • Yes! And probably using our water!
  • Today's grump belongs to medical practices which send phone messages telling you to come 20 mins before your appointment time and then when you do so, there appears to be no reason for the need to be early, so you spend 40 mins waiting for your turn instead of 20, poo to you, we could have stayed in bed!!

Also when you book the test no one has said the testee needs to fast and so a very light breakfast has been taken, hopefully we get a result otherwise that's another $100 down the loo!
  • I hear you with the come early to the doctor. I now have learned there is no need, and I ignore them. I hope it was not a fast test. I once came for an appointment and was told it had to be done before 10:00 in the moning and yet they are the onces who gave me the noon appointment.
  • HuiaHuia Shipmate
    How annoying.

I'm now giving thanks for a competent medical practice she says smugly,
  • No good deed goes unpunished. We are fostering three incredibly nice kittens - a joy to behold and well behaved. My Dear Wife is away for a few days doing grandma duty, so I am pampering the little beasties day and night. So far so good. Half an hour ago I felt I deserved an afternoon nap, turned round from my desk to see one of them jumping off the bed, leaving a steaming puddle on the duvet cover.

Guilty as charged, yer honour, but she deserved it.

No, I didn't really. I changed everything and then fed the little buggers, which was probably what she was trying to tell me. They learned some new words today.

PS: 10% cleaning vinegar will clean almost anything...

TICTH the person sitting next to me in a choir rehearsal who spent the first 15 minutes texting. I don’t know how I lasted that long, but at that point I asked her to stop as it was distracting. She replied “ It’s my husband. He’s in a wheelchair. I need to sort a taxi for him” So sort it before the rehearsal. It was obvious that her mind was elsewhere. She did not know any of the music and didn’t sing very much. Honestly, if your circumstances mean you can’t cope, then don’t come. It was not an obvious emergency. I found her behaviour very distracting. Even worse, she was texting again at the start of the actual concert, whilst the MD was making announcements. So rude. So inappropriate. This was not a young person. She told me she was 81.
    Rant over.
  • Very annoying @Puzzler - perhaps something of an emergency was being dealt with, but your neighbour would certainly have done better to have left the event...
