Heh. Yes, I did the same thing, and had the same reaction.

  • This morning, our pastor read the AI translation to the Confirmation students. They told him the translation is so yesterday. Of course, most confirmation kids are late Gen Z or even early Gen Alphas. What do they know?

Pastor took his sermon around Jesus' response to James and John. "Seriously?"
  • I am quite confident future translations will sound nothing like the mush pushed out by ChatGPT. And if they do, God help us.

Depends on what you are asking CPT to do. I did an experiment on my own. I asked CPT to tanslate Mark for GenAlpha readers . It came out with a translation similar to the Good News Bible. When I asked CPT to translate in their vernacular it came out with a translation similar to the GenZ slang.

It should be understood there have been some trash translations by humans too. You don't need CPT to do it.

I think if someone tried to produce a new iteration of The Message it might look similar.

You have novelty ones, but they aren't serious* and will be playing into the gimmick even harder for the famous verses.
I couldn't get the lolcat version (mid internet youth speak, and cat based imagery)

    *There'll be nuance

    I just call it AI
  • 'Call me Al'?
    Wasn't that Paul Simmon?

    Yes, 'The Winebibber' was cool.
    I remember Belinda Bounges.

And the Good News Bible drawing fella.

    Ha ha ha.

I’m guessing ChatCBT doesn’t know any actual Gen Zers.

I suspect you both mean ChatGPT.

I suspect that ChatCBT might be equally amusing.

“How great the condensation” rather than “condescention”. She was a frequent visitor to the vicarage where we knew all about condensation…!

It's not long ago that an elderly neighbour told me that it was good that the twanglets go to church as they will learn humidity.....

Heh. This weekend, we learned that God told Abram that he would become exceedingly humorous.

Well, I can think of three meanings that go from the pedestrian to the highly alarming.
