According to their Facebook page. this church is still alive and well, with a *traditional worship service* (their words!) at 10am every Sunday - their rather out-of-date A Church Near You page suggests that this alternates between Morning Prayer and Holy Communion.

Hopefully, the welcome is still as warm as it was in 2011! The Facebook page shows photos of the church as described in the MW Report, so something of a revival must have taken place, staving off closure and demolition.

If people chose to look up the name of the cleric mentioned in the report they will find unwelcome news reports.
This is my town. The church struggles, understandably. It has a Memorial Hall that was put up after WW1 and is beyond repair. They want to pull it down, but people with no connection with the church have been kicking up a fuss. This l8nk suggests the whole site has been bought by something call the Aspirations Trust.

Thanks @Alan29 - yes, the reports of what the vicar did are indeed unpleasant reading.

The Aspiration Trust apparently has a large hall with a cafe for hire, and I'm wondering if this is, in fact, the church MWed:

I think it takes place in the church, but I don't know if it has replaced it. I've just consulted my wife who thinks it isno longer a church.

Hmm. Their FB page suggests that it is still a church - baptisms were held earlier this month, at any rate. The page appears to be up-to-date:

It's quite possible, of course, for the building to be multi-purpose, with secular activities as well as worship.

Use of the building for worship may be confined to Sundays, but, at any rate, the gloomy future (or lack of it) mentioned in the MW Report seems not to have come to pass.
