March Madness--NCAA Basketball Tournament 2025

Every March Americans go on a spree trying to determine who is going to win the National Basketball Championship by filling out a set of brackets. Some will even place bets based on their bracket.

Myself, I don't play the bracket game, but I do have a favorite team, the Gonzaga Bulldogs. They have often been able to start out strong, but somewhere around the final four they get beat out.

But there is always the chance.

If you do fill out a bracket, how is it doing since Day one has ended and day two is ending shortly.

Who do you think will ultimately win?

My youngest son has three brackets. McNeese State beating Auburn yesterday broke them to varying degrees.

For years, I regularly took part in office bracket pools for the men’s tournament, and won once. But I haven’t done bracket pools or bracket betting since the office pool came up an end.

It has been a rough season for the Tar Heels, and we’ve now been put out of our misery.

I don’t particularly care who wins now, so long as it ain’t Duke.

Meanwhile, I’m glad the women’s tournament is now getting more attention. Most places where I see brackets do them for both the men’s and the women’s tournaments. I’m hoping my team in the women’s tournament will better than the Tar Heel men did.

This story of a student manager for a small university at March Madness caught my attention. Makes this former student manager proud.
