I can’t get past Howard being so skeevy - he does improve but eww.
There has been some talk of the authors regretting quite how disgusting they made Howard. For me, Howard's skeeviness was part of the realism. I knew plenty of guys like Leonard in the first few series, and several who were well on the way to being Howard. Raj's "can't speak to women unless I'm drunk" schtick was silly, but sort of worked as a way of lampooning the geek unable to talk to women stereotype.
Each character on TBBT grew as the show went on. In the early seasons, they all had strong personality traits that almost bordered on stereotype. This served to distinguish each of the characters and provided the basis of growth while still retaining certain elements of their initial introduction.
I was checking out the Vickypedia entry about TBBT and it's spin offs. One discovery I made was that the actor playing Young Sheldon's Dad, had played a bully in one episode of TBBT (I don't know if he was an offscreen voice, or whether he was seen on camera).
I was also very happy to see that many/most of the Young Sheldon cast will appear in yet another spin off , Georgie and Mandy's first marriage. I hope it works as well as Young Sheldon, but I suppose that will depend on the strength of the scripts and the writing.
I'm sure I'll watch a few episodes just to suss it out when it is released, it's possible it's already available in the US, but not here yet.

He does appear on camera; it’s an episode in season 5. He had bullied Leonard when they were younger.
He also appeared in season 12 of TBBT, but not as the bully. Adult Sheldon plays a videotape he had recorded as a child in case he ever needed encouragement. Iain Armitage, who starred in Young Sheldon, appears on the videotape as young Sheldon and Lance Barber as his father.

In other news, it was great to see the cardinals elect cousin Leo as pope. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXpQ2Gc_7nQ

Here is a scene from the episode where Lance Barber plays Jimmy Speckerman in TBBT.
