LOL! I've been playing so terribly this month that I needed to be farther up the roster to not continue my lousy scores!

  • 🤦 Forgot to come back after the system maintenance message yesterday! 😟

    Nice Guessometer. Pat, pat.
  • American sport and slang 🙄 I know what a young frog is ACTUALLY called, and it isn’t that.
  • jedijudyjedijudy Heaven Host
The Guessometer needs a treat today!
  • Well, I got cross-checked. Ouch.

    Exactly. :rage:
  • When I was at school we used a reading scheme from the US which used American English. That wasn't the question I got wrong.
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
Was that the Reading Lab, with the different levels represented by different colours (or "colors" as they called them)? I think that's where I discovered that Americans spell things differently.
  • Can't remember what it was called. There was a big box of cards, and yes they were different colo(u)rs for the levels. We would take a card out, read and answer the comprehension questions and mark our answers. All ideally without engaging with the teacher.
  • Top of the pile for the moment.

That sounds like the Reading Lab right enough.

In other news, I'm still nowhere near fast enough on easy days. :(
  • Having one of those days in which I'm just glad to have scored 10.
  • These are getting more and more American niche.
  • !*&%$~! tablet screen playing ducks and drakes again 😡
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
    Sodding musicals! :rage:
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
**** it - I clicked the right answer on number 10 and it didn't register. :rage:

Very bad language has been used.
  • Mexican geography did for me!
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
Luckily the Guessometer is better at it than I am! :)
  • What happened on Sunday? Half the usual suspects missing 🤔
  • I was away for the weekend and the change in routine made me forget.

What happened on Sunday? Half the usual suspects missing 🤔

Unfortunately, mostly from the half that's slower than me ... :grimace:
  • Well, that was a waste of time and money. The local techie expert place "fixed" my tablet to stop the screen shifting because it results in on-line forms having the wrong boxes ticked, etc. Ha! Today the !*&^%"! thing changed two of my answers from right to wrong 😡😡😡
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
OK, who else got question 3 wrong? Talk about "niche" ... :grimace:

I believe I have read the story in question, although I don't think I read it in that collection.

  • Guessometer worked for me
  • Wrong sister ...
  • The guessometer was on form with dates 🙂

Bloody swimming pool question again ... :rage:

Yup, I always get that one wrong.
  • I was the victim of a too-cold laptop today! My trackpad was annoyingly slow to register my finger's input. Probably only cost me a few seconds, but still... :weary:
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
42 seconds isn't nearly fast enough on a Very Easy day. :(
  • ASL & American Girl Guides 🙄
  • Got the ASL, failed on slogan 😡
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
All hail the Guessometer - second place! :)
  • 😡 it wouldn’t submit for ages 😟
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
Having got 10/10 in 30 seconds, I was feeling quite chuffed with myself, until it occurred to me that Anna B would probably have got it in 20. I wasn't that far off ...
  • Does the Beverly Hillbillies still get played a lot in the USA or is the question setter of an older generation? I was a kid when it was played in the U.K. & I’m in my 60s!
  • I have no explanation for today's performance.
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
    ******* 'murcan television ... :rage:
  • O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! Old Sid is top of the tree for the moment.😀
  • LOL -- knocked myself down a few pegs -- back where I belong.
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
Stuff that for a lark - if there's only one in the list that you've heard of, he's more likely the right answer, even if that isn't why you thought you'd heard of him.
