  • A dull unstimulating day here. After swimming and, later on, shopping, we decided to go to the garden centre. Although I despise Christmas displays so early, it was actually nice to be there.

I may have to thank @Bishops Finger for the absolutely glorious Sun Shine that's been beaming down on West Lothian today - did you send it northwards?

After a moderately successful choir practice (considering that most of the "hymns" were unadulterated crud), one of the gentlemen treated us all to coffee (and BACON ROLLS for those of us who hadn't had breakfast yet) in the cafe along from the church, which was most enjoyable.

Then home for some quite a lot of snoozage, and as it was such a glorious day, I ambled down to Tessie's to stock up on this and that.

Supper will eventually be fish cakes with potato salad and greenery.

BF, I was a bit worried about you when I saw all those apostrophe's ...
  • Grey here. I am having a lazy day to make up for the busy workload this week. So just a bit of laundry and tidying, and I have caught up with The Traitors.
Lunch was sausages and eggs in a fresh baguette and think Mr Heavenly intends to cook venison stew for tea.

I can't quite get my act together today after my short break, so I have achieved very little apart from restocking the fridge and two lots of washing. I intended to go to the church coffee morning but wasn't organised in time, so I went after lunch as there is an art exhibition on ( and they were still serving coffee and cake in the choir vestry). I would have bought a painting if I had found one I liked. I did like several but they would not have been right for the room in question.
Having had my meals provided all week I am struggling to know what to cook, so it might be the lamb hot pot ready meal I bought this morning.
  • We're having venison stew tomorrow or Monday - luvly!
  • @Piglet - I'm glad you're enjoying the Sun Shine! We still have some here, though not for much longer today, as the Nights are Drawing In.

Rest assured, I do know where and how apostrophe's should be used...
  • We saw the sunshine for about one minute this afternoon - whoopee!

We had a glorious afternoon of sunshine and no wind. Gardening was done and a tree moved from a pot to a space at the back of the garden. I’m not sure if it’ll thrive there, but it wasn’t doing great in a pot anyway. In exchange another tree was moved to the border nearer the house which I hope suits it better too. The vacated pot was filled with a bay tree whose pot broke during last winters frosts.
This evening will be spent drinking wine and watching Strictly.
  • Make the most of it. Winter Drawers On, as the saying is.

Nice and cosy in the Ark this evening, with SOUP, and SOSSIDGE SANWIDGES, for later.

    Also CHEESE.

Cool and cloudy, but dry, weather is forecast for tomorrow, which is Our Place's Patronal Festival (a week or so early, to avoid half-term!). The service will be taken by our Flying Bishop, and is to include three confirmations - two from Our Place, and one from Next-Door Place - which is encouraging.
  • The service will be taken by our Flying Bishop.
Has a suitable runway been prepared? Or a landing-pad marked with a big B in a circle?

Yes, it's an unfortunate term - Provincial Episcopal Visitor is correct. The best he can hope for is a parking place, jealously guarded from the depredations of the neighbours, by Churchwardens armed with large Dogs.

Rather saddened/annoyed to see “happy Halloween “ items alongside Christmas items in W***rose Abergavenny. And a poster for a firework display outside!
  • They seem to follow hot on each other's heels, so maybe putting all three lots of Seasonal Stuff (aka Tat) together saves the staff some work.

Beautiful Autumnal day. Early light lunch and off to a Lino cut workshop which was quite fun. Still a lovely autumnal afternoon when I emerged. Lambie bits marinated in lemon/olive oil/chilli and fresh rosemary for dinner.

Flu vaccine and Covid booster today. Beginning to feel it in my upper arms, just in time for bed. Not looking forward to being unable to sleep comfortably on either side for the next couple of nights.
