Newsom was brought up by someone ranting about something Donald Trump said about him. He’s almost 60 years old which would have him a third grader in the 70’s. He’d have you believe his third grade teacher was using the term as a diagnosis at that time. That’s a stupid assertion.

I’m with Trump on this. Rant away, but Trump is merely over the target here.

This just in: CNN is reporting Senator Rand Paul, the chair of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, will not be voting for Senator Markwayne Mullin as the new DHS Secretary because of anger issues. In 2017, Rand Paul was attacked by one of his neighbors over a property dispute. Senator Paul was left with severe injuries that took some time to recover from. Senator Mullin, in reaction to that attack called Senator Paul a snake. Paul wanted Mullin to apologize for that remark during the hearing. Mullin refused.

I remember three years ago Mullin challenged the Teamster's CEO Sean O'Brian to a fight during a committee hearing. Senator Sanders had to gavel Mullin down reminding him he was a senator. Rand Paul showed that video during the current confirmation hearings.

Mullin claims to have military experience. He has none. While he is owner of several companies, he does not have a MBA.

Looking for this nomination to go down in flames. Would hate to be in the Senate Chambers when this happens.

He said it again today! Paul had to tell him it's been illegal for 170 years.

Funny thing is, if there's one guy in Congress I could believe supports duelling, it would be Rand Paul.

Somewhat related to that, apparently Mullin's original endorsement of the assault on Paul was a result of a previous squabble in which Mullin had refused to go along with some bill proposed by Paul to clamp down on "welfare fraud" in Minnesota.

I think it's because it just doesn't occur to me that someone would go lower, at least not in this day and age, in that office. (Or really in general.) Not about Trump specifically. Then when he does it, I'm astonished and horrified, but it tracks with his horribleness.

An old saying: "Don't piss on someone else's grave..."

There are a number of ways of ending that.

When Margaret Thatcher died a lot of people bought a copy of the Munchkins from The Wizard of Oz singing "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" so that it got to No 1 in the music charts and the BBC played it in their chart show.

What might be the song when Mr Trump meets his maker?

Rather ironically Cameron was PM at the time and I suspect his death will provoke no such outpouring of joy despite him not being fit to tie her shoelaces. Being fit to tie Thatcher's shoelaces I hasten to add is a low bar to clear but I don't know that any of Cameron's successors as Tory leader have cleared it, except maybe May (it is a low bar).

It may be that it's beyond even Trump's ability to mess that up. Though given the level of probity required to serve in Trump's inner circle Trump can't be the only suspect.
