I'm happy to be watching a new series of Death in Paradise. I'll be watching the whole season. I was glad to see Commissioner Patterson getting a larger role than usual in the first episode. I was sorry to see Darlene absent as I enjoyed her very much. I'll be off to see if she has left permanently and has been explained away.
I'll be watching for Small Prophets here is Oz as I like McKenzie Crook and loved The Detectorists, though it took me a few episodes to get into it.
Thanks for the heads up. Hadn't heard of it, but have really enjoyed other documentaries he's fronted. In particular, the Rites of Passage was very thoughtful.
Just finished watching Daredevil: Born Again (season 2) on Disney+
More violent than anything I usually watch, but it's really held my attention. Very complex characters, particularly Mayor Fisk/Kingpin who could easily just have been (literally) a 'big bad' but is so much more. Daredevil is RC and his faith is an integral part of his character, which means the writers can explore some satisfyingly meaty themes of justice and mercy.
I did watch season 1 but I don't remember it being as good as this.

Actually, no. I’ve never really been into Daredevil. I’m not much into the whole street-level superhero genre for the most part. I’ve enjoyed some Batman, but it depends. And I’m way way way behind on all of my Marvel viewing – I’m watching it generally in release order with a few exceptions and I’m kind of like right before… Civil war maybe? Right after Ant-man? I have seen some of the series and movies out of order, like WandaVision and Agatha All Along and the second Doctor Strange movie, Multiverse of Madness. I need to see Ms. Marvel and Wonder man. There’s just so much… With Star Wars I’m even further behind. I’m watching that in storyline order, and I’m somewhere in the bad batch. (Before all of this I had only seen the three original movies, two of the prequel, and one of the sequels, so none of the other movies or TV series. I’ve gradually worked my way up to the bad batch… yes, this means I’ve not seen the Mandalorian, etc.)
Still working my way through Batman beyond. I am in season two currently. I really need to actually sit down and make time to watch stuff but what seems to happen is the only time I really give myself to watch stuff that has a plot is over breakfast in the morning or afternoon as the case may be. I plan on watching movies during or after dinner but then you know dinner winds up being two or three or four in the morning and I don’t wanna start watching anything with a plot at that point so I just sort of wind up watching whatever is live on the Roku channel that has to do with paranormal stuff, or maybe YouTube videos. Or occasionally stand up. So I’m sort of stuck on various places… Trying to work my way through classic Golden age horror movies is particularly the universal ones and I’m around 1942 I think. Working my way through all of the giant monster Japanese movies and my next one will be eventually when I get around to it Godzilla 1985 – there was sort of a hiatus between some point in the 70s and 1985.
I've been catching up on a wonderful Aussie TV series from the mid-2000s. It's called Love my Way and features Claudia Karvan in the lead role of Frankie Paige a single Mum living with her daughter Lou. It focusses on Frankie's extended family and friends and their daily lives.
Obviously I've lived quite a sheltered life as I didn't anticipate the grittiness of the depictions of their lives depicting poor mental health, death of a child, drug use and lots of sexual activity. None of it was offensive, and well handled, being thought provoking on many of the issues. It's not one for people wanting a nice series with a happy ending as all the characters are very real, displaying the behaviours that we all try to hide, selfishness, manipulative behaviours, blaming, refusal to take responsibility for actions, dealing with children and young people in blended families. It has been quite addictive though!! There were only 3 seasons and I'm in season 3 now.
I'm also enjoying Finding your Roots, a US family history program, which has been interesting and educative as well as entertaining. I have enjoyed seeing the use of DNA technology to tell the family stories, sometimes confirming or denying family oral history, and being useful where documents were never kept, or no longer exist. It hasn't made me want to do my own DNA test, though!!
"Season 3" (actually a 90 minute movie) of Good Omens drops on Wednesday May 13th on Amazon Prime. Not sure how this will be. Neil Gaiman had no input as far as I know, having been removed from the project after the allegations about him came out. But I'm looking forward to seeing it anyway.

I'm eagerly awaiting Good Omens 3 as well - and they got Rachel Talalay as director, which is a good sign. She's done some brilliant episodes of Doctor Who.
I've just begun watching the latest season of Welcome to Wrexham. Having watched the others, it is clear they are following a formula in their presentation. That doesn't make the behind the scenes stories any less interesting, though.
Also still sticking with Grey's Anatomy, though the dropping of episodes is confusing to me.
On Britbox I'm enjoying Here we go, such a mad sitcom, always has me in stitches.
I will probably have a look at Good Omens, but haven't gotten there yet!
I haven't watched Rivals but my understanding is that there is some pretence at a plot about corporate politicking to glue together the sex scenes. Reviews say that it may be shlock but it is unashamed and extremely well-done shlock, with a prestigious cast having a lot of fun.
Mind you, I'm not averse to "naughty" fiction (hello, Gengoroh Tagame! Don't Google him at work!)--one author whose work I devour has the pen name of Dominic N. Ashen (get it?), whose primary series, Steel and Thunder, is about the fantasy and romantic and naughty adventures of a quite handsome orc named Khazak and his slave David; another is about a werewolf prince and his submissive male partner (you may detect a theme here), and so on. They're quite good with a lot of worldbuilding... it would be awesome if any of these became films or shows someday!
I spent some time yesterday afternoon enjoying the reboot of Malcolm in the Middle. I thought it was well done, though I would have enjoyed more episodes.
Cheery son has just suggested some episodes of Here We Go for this afternoon. Now he knows that Jim Howick (of Ghosts) is in it as well as Katherine Parkinson (Doc Martin and the IT crowd), he is very keen to watch it from the beginning. That's me sorted for the rest of the day!!
