Two one day internationals today: Australia beat South Africa under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (which was pretty convincing here) but in the other game the West Indies put up 405-7 in 50 overs their best in one of these matches, but India beat them with 406-2 in just 43 overs! I think they must have been playing on a pretty small ground or one with a hard, fast, dependable pitches and a slick outfield. Fast pitches can be dangerous but bowlers are constrained from bowling bouncers in ODIs so a competent batsman can score very quickly.
An interesting test match in Durban between South Africa and Australia. Australia stumbled to 124-6 but fought back to 390, thanks almost entirely to Matt Renshaw’s magnificent 190. Australia have a handsome lead because while six South Africans got a good start, none passed fifty. It’s a decent pitch and Australia played well ball in hand, but I wonder if too many batters are stuck in limited-overs mode.

Thank you. I think it will be my 5th bowling trophy, which is good going for someone who joined the team as a specialist fine leg!
Look at it this way: I follow baseball and there’s a lot I don’t understand. I still enjoy it.
