Yes, improved tech seems to be giving some an edge denied we lesser mortals but there are strange things happening all the time - I've managed a full house on Bible trivia 2 weeks on the trot, when I can usually be relied on to be holding up everyone else.
As for your second place last month - the best I've ever managed was fifth in (I think) 2021.
