I'll take most things the degree throws at me. My university's history department has a focus on Jewish history so I've studied the Holocaust extensively.
I really enjoyed my late antiquity module last year - lots of opportunities to write about Christianity there. I'm also looking forward to getting stuck into the English Civil War for my special subject in the upcoming academic year.
Welcome aboard @Church Koala. I live in a part of the UK with lots of Civil War history and the national museum on the subject. A really interesting period to study.
If you haven't done so already do have a look at The Ten Commandments, but other than that make yourself at home and enjoy the voyage.
Hello! I have just made an account but I have been reading Mystery Worshipper reports for a while. I find them very interesting, as a Roman Catholic who enjoys learning about all denominations and seeing how other Christians do things.
I am going into my third year of a history degree at university (dissertation year 🥲) and enjoy quizzing in my spare time.
Welcome aboard indeed, @Church Koala, and best of luck with your dissertation!

hello shipmates. I haven't used that phrase since my Navy days in the 1990s. I'm a long time lurker who finally bit the bullet and joined. I'm not sure what all I'm supposed to say here in this Introduction post....umm, I'm a divorced (from a woman) gay man. My religious history is all over the place: Baptist, then Lutheran (ELCA) then Presbyterian (geographic convenience while I was at college w/o a car), United Church of Christ, and for the last 25 years Episcopalian. I look forward to being more involved at the ship of fools. God knows I'm a fool.
Another historian here, though I lecture in modern health and social care. I’m currently doing an MA in early modern history, with a dissertation looking at madness in the early modern period.
