It's a running sore for me that no-one does a light enough duvet for the bits of the year too warm for the thinnest they do and not needing anything. 4.5 tog is my Winter duvet.
I have a very lightweight quilt (what in Canada was called a "comforter") and a sheet. When it got really warm, I just tossed the quilt to one side and slept under the sheet.
We haven’t had a duvet since the beginning of May, just a duvet cover. We have a 4.5 tog duvet and individual quilts and the bedroom window is invariably open. Fan on too.
And what do you know? Under some pressure from younger daughter, Mrs Sioni agrees to do a roast and the weather revs up from the average 20c last week to the “a bit warm for two solid hours in the kitchen” 25c. Actually 30c in the kitchen, 25c outside.
With luck there will be cold chicken for sandwiches. Not chicken and something pie, my usual go-to.
