Just tried quordle and got it on the last guess. I suspect the usual policy here is gather letters in the first 3 guesses then concentrate on each word in turn. Thoughts
I got it in three and agree with both posts above. Needed a really long think - I had two correct letters placed and knew a third letter. Firenze, that as amazing. Very cool to see the progression.
@Piglet, like Nick Tamen and mousethief, I don't generally immediately use my green letters. If I don't have a clear idea of what the word is, and there are many possibilities, it feels like a wasted use of a space, when I could try all new letters, to give myself a greater chance of getting the word. I have two starter words, which I generally use, and a third one if I still have no idea.
Nerdle now accepts commutative answers, which saves some of the fiddly rearranging based on chance. If one part could be either 2+3 or 3+2, it accepts either. Though I guess still a bit of fiddly rearranging when you know it could be either 23+32 or 22+33.
Whew, that is a relief. Thanks for letting me know. I was having some trouble with the program. I accidentally switched screens on my phone so I went to Wordle again and there was my first guess minus the last letter which was blank. So I put in the lucky second guess again and the first four letters were green but the last was blank again. But it did have a congrats message. Strange. I may be the wrong generation for this technology.
Mark's link gives me my own solution on my mobile (which I used for Wordle), and a blank grid on my Tablet.
I had four each for Wordle and Byrdle today, and an evil, fiendish Facebook friend (you know who you are) has introduced me to Quordle, so that'll be another 15 minutes out of each day!
I got Quordle in 4, 5, 7, 9, which I thought wasn't bad for my first try. It occurs to me though that you'll never get a spectacular score because your guesses automatically go in the grids in a set order (top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right), so you have to leave each grid unsolved until you've solved the one before it.

When I do Quordle each guess goes in all four grids at once. Today the first right answer I got was bottom right, then top right, bottom left, top left in that order.

They don't have to be solved in order. I just work on solving whichever panel has the most letters. I got 6, 5, 9, 7 today. You do have to "waste" some goes with words containing letters you know aren't in some grids, but theoretically you could actually get one of the answers immediately and not be long in following up the others by a process of elimination.
Wordle is the new Sudoku. The various proliferations suggest that it won't be much longer before the craze peaks and splinters - other variants I've seen so far are Lewdle, Sweardle, Byrdle for the choral music fans, Fochlach for Irish speakers, Nerdle for the mathematically inclined, and Absurdle, which I haven't tried. I'm liking Quordle.

Well, you have nine tries which are applied to all unsolved words. You can never get an overall score lower than four, as you need to solve the four words to complete it, so that is four tries in itself. And I'd say it must be almost impossible to get a score of four unless you are incredibly lucky - even luckier than getting Wordle in one try! The lowest overall score I've got is 6, which is 3, 4, 5, 6. So that is two starter words, and then getting all the other words on first try. Could be possible with only one starter word, I guess, but I haven't managed this yet, and I've done quite a lot of them, as I do the unlimited ones as well as the daily ones.

I now have 3 starting words that between them have the most frequent 15 letters. By word 3 today I knew all of the letters in the target word.
Just hope the letters aren't "aeprs" or "aelst"

I'm curious as to why you wouldn't keep the "green" letters you got in the second line. Quite literally, if it ain't broke, why fix it?

Got nothing the first guess, two in it but out of place on the second guess. Put it down for a while and then thought of a possibility while driving.
