Good job it's relatively warm right now. Our elderly Baxi back boiler has responded to being serviced by refusing to light. A new gas control valve has been ordered and we'll be burning electicity until Tuesday when the gasman can return.
Passwords. For some reason I changed a password on my laptop email and it prevented emails arriving on my ipad and iphone. attempting to rectify one has locked me out of the settings for the other. Going round in circles and rapidly losing my mind.
Add to that, i am struggling to charge both devices. I suspect dust in the charging bit. Grr.
Well, yes - but you did have a tune by RVW, another by a 16thC German (?), and a lovely 18thC melody beloved of west gallery quires...
We did indeed (as Bach was born in 1685, I'd say he flourished in the 18th century), and they were lovely. They almost made up for the train-wreck that was the other two ... 🙄
I think he harmonised it at least twice - once in each of the surviving passions? I've only ever sung the St John so far, but that has a version, and I'm pretty sure the St Matthew has a separate one. I'm not sure, however, if either of them is the version in the hymn book...

Pretty sure there's an advent version in the Christmas Oratorio as well.
ICTH pollen - all of it. Despite munching on antihistamines as if they were Smarties I have streaming eyes, blocked sinuses and a crackling sound in my ears. 😱😡
The annoying right wing poster on Facebook who reposted a 'wanted' picture of me and four other councillors that our MP published last year while trying to make a point about the local county council elections. Totally irrelevant to the current elections, with the potential to cause me harm when I'm out leafleting if anyone takes it seriously.

Some people deserve a run-in with a bull elephant in must. In Christian love, obviously.
Having been persuaded to try our first cruise - four days from Istanbul to Trieste - we were now advised to do a web check-in. After three days of attempts that took our details including a photo, we could never complete the process. Calling the company today, we were advised that the web check-in is not working! Why did they leave it up, or at least eMail us to say it was not working? It was clearly stated that we could not board unless we had checked in at least one day before departure. Now we are told that they will complete the check-in on the day of departure! A lot of frustration and anxiety, and even doubts over technical competence.
To Hell with BBC Radio 3 and their new schedules which includes tthe cancellation of tonight's much looked forward to concert. It was supposed to be Beethoven's Missa Solemnis. Live.
Instead we got a 'Boulez at 100' repeat. No explanation. Why? As Gollum said of Lembas, 'Dust and ashes, we can't eat that'.
I volunteer on another forum and there are changes afoot. Us volunteers got a horribly officious message today from someone who has no direct input into what we do. It's made me feel that I'll be resigning that role sooner rather than later.

There's a little village near Andover I like to invoke at times like this. It's called Faccombe

That wasn't meant as a personal comment!
Hehe...it wasn't taken as such...
It all makes work for the working man to do.
*blows raspberry*
Is that the chorus?
🤣
There are (a few) advantages to the current situation... the beers are cold!
