Prayers for @RockyRoger and daughter. As I work my way through the aftermath of my mother's death, I'm realising how many layers of estrangement I simply sat on during her lifetime. I don't think it could ever have happened, but I can't help weeping for the relationship that these presented. We could have been far closer than we actually were, since we actually, I think, needed each other, but could never allow the other to really take hold. Especially not after I came out as gay: not because of homophobia, exactly, but because I did not fit in the space allocated to me in her head.
That's succinctly put - thank you. I have a sense that there is stuff going on close to me which I do not understand; if there are truths I need to know, I pray for the opportunity to come to know them; for patience if now is not the time; for grace in either case; for resolve and direction.
My sister, only 61, on ITU with complications of MS.
Her quality of life was very poor before this and it looks like she may not pull through.

Prayers for your sister @Merry Vole , and for @ChastMastr as we awaits news of his friend G.
For all that need our prayers, specially those that cannot ask.
Update concerning Sammy. He just reached 10 months on Sunday. Six of those months have been spent in a hip cast. Nevertheless, he has figured out how to crawl and moves all over the living room chasing big brother and his toy cars. Big brother is 28 months. For the most part, they get along very well.
Sammy will remain in a cast until 4 November at which time they will place him in a brace which he will have to wear 23 hours a day. A month after that the need for a brace will be reduced to three hours a day. And then a month later he should be able to go free. There will be a lot of physical/occupational therapy down the line too. Occupational therapy for an infant? Yes, the goal is to get him to the same skills a normal year old would be doing.

I am so sorry. Holding everyone who loves her in prayer.
I know this sounds very minor, but I’m diabetic and have been dealing with a foot wound on the other foot for some time, including a couple of infections, so…
Basically tonight, I was looking at the nails on my other foot and decided to trim them (I know, I’m supposed to have the podiatrist do that, argh). One came off safely. The other, because I forgot that those toes can’t feel pain, bled. Panic ensued. I’ve rubbed it with alcohol and put band-aids on it and then a medical pad under the sock, and I’m sure some of the panic is (1) staying up till 5 am last night and not getting enough sleep, (2) finally chugging through the last batch of old papers (now I only have new stuff from this last week to grade, thank God), (3) doing my Zoom classes, (4) only eating a bowl of granola and blueberries so far today (2:49 pm, after midnight now), (5) everything in the news (the pics of the White House damage seems to have hit me hard, possibly because I worked in DC for 7 years 2000-2007, even though it’s minor compared to everything else), and so on.
So prayers for my feet (both the wound and the toe injury) (I mean, worst case scenario, if there’s a problem, I’m already going to wound care on Mondays and they can look at it), but especially my stress, would be great.
After I hit “post comment,” I’m going to eat dinner, all ready in the microwave, watch the original 1940s The Wolf Man, and get a good night’s sleep.
Sister Vole now back on oxygen and has a feeding tube.
Her husband and (grown up) children exhausted and stressed by the ongoing situation. An arrow prayer or 2 appreciated. 🙏

Of your charity, would you please pray for G, a gentleman in our congregation (he's 93 and still singing in the choir), who's been taken into hospital, and for his wife L?
The rest of my family is scattering some of my mother's ashes today. I'm not there because I wasn't part of the planning, and had already agreed to take over reading and intercessing in church, on something of an emergency basis. Relationships are still shattered, and circumstances and attitudes are conspiring to make reconciliation harder. Not sure what I want the outcome to be, still less sure what it will be, but it is painful right now.
Prayers for the people of Jamaica. A Cat 5 hurricane looks like it will make a direct hit right through the middle of Jamaica within the next 24 hours.
My sister has just come home from hospital for palliative care. I will setting off at first light to drive to visit her for likely the last time. Will the Lord be right there in the midst of it all. I'm believing for that. 🙏

Hugs and love to all.
I'm coping with a severe bout gastroenteritis by watching the 'Ladykillers' (1955 version, of course!).
Blessings!
