Excuse the double post. While I would caution against diagnosing from a distance, the other day, I noticed Trump seemed to be shuffling while walking. He also seemed to be struggling to walk up the stars into Air Force One (frankly, considering the height of the stairs I would have problems to). But there are always people who do play the game. And I know people speculate on the health of other world leaders based on videos too.

Here is one such speculation about Trump. Of course, this may also be reflecting the bias of the emag it is printed in.

Another childish reaction. Send him to bed without any supper. Put him on the naughty step. Tell him he can’t have Cuba until he behaves.

Bed without supper would probably do his waistline a power of good!

There is plenty to criticise Trump for without resorting to fatphobia or criticising his appearance. Using fatphobia to criticise Trump is still bigotry.
  • Much as I loathe trump, the amateur physical and psycho analyses are really not useful. I am close to trump's age and have been shuffling a bit lately. That's because I lifted something awkwardly a couple of weeks ago and probably pinched a nerve (again!) I'll get over it in a few more days.

Here's my attitude toward Trump's health as a political issue.

Until we are at the point where we know Trump is seriously immobilized and/or relatively deficient in his ability to construct utterances with semantic and syntactical coherency(*), this topic is best filed under "Cross that bridge when we come to it". To slightly misappropriate westminsterian terms, the opposition should always be at least roughly prepared to fight someone other than the current head-of-government, anyway.

On a more practical level, I've found discussions of Trump's health on other laymans' boards to be frustratingly inconclusive. People can talk about whatever interests them, though I'd personally think it more useful to follow discussions among health and medical workers, if any are to be found.

(*) By which I don't just mean that he says a lotta stupid and bigoted stuff, I mean nobody would even object to what he said in the first place, because his meaning would be impossible to decipher. The story about immigrant caninivorism in the Buckeye State would come out as "Ohio. Somalia. Lassie. Oh, Timmy, oh Timmy."

Going after Cuba is even more terrifying given how close the Florida Keys are - of course not that it would be OK or stop being terrifying without that, but Cuba is incredibly close to US soil. The Keys aka the Conch Republic also happen to be a rebellious (and extremely LGBTQ+ friendly) part of Florida that the GOP in Florida particularly hates.

Eek. In Tampa Bay, Florida, here. Other Shipmates are here in Florida as well ( @jedijudy and possibly others).

St. Erin, please pray for us!!
