I used to post on the old Ship, many years ago. I registered here and read often and post intermittently, but every time I try to connect properly something IRL happens to prevent it. Given that this time Real Life has already gone mad, perhaps I stand a better chance.
Hi there everyone. I've rejoined this forum, well, I'm joining this new one, having not posted on the old one for a while either. I was Rosa Winkel on the old forum.
I've got young kids now, (stuck at home with me obviously) so don't have much time, but it occured to me that it would be more wholesome to spend time here when they're asleep rather than playing computer games. I hope you are all well.

Well, that went well (not). The little voluntary job I have, suddenly expanded. I might have it under control now, but I’m not massively confident.
Hello all! I'm brand new to the Ship. I was raised a Muslim but was baptised into the Church of England (causing more bafflement than fury) a few years ago. I'll lurk around to see what's what - I'm anxious not to resurrect any dead horses - but thought I'd say hi anyway.
Hello @notthegardener ! Good to see you here. I guess a host will happen along shortly to give you an official welcome; meantime, have fun exploring the decks.
If you take a look at the FAQ and 10 Commandments pages (links on the home-page), they should tell you all you need to know about what's what and who's who, and how the different boards work.
Yes, Welcome @notthegardener !
Good name.
I have had a crisis with my usename of 'Tank Engine' and the kindly Admins have taken pity on me and made a special dispensation to allow me to change it and I will shortly be known as Merry Vole .With a new avatar to match!
I've been visiting the Ship of Fools website for over 20 years but have only now created my own account.
I've spent periods of my life as an Anglican, a Catholic, and an atheist, not necessarily in that order. Within the Church of England, I've spent time with Anglo-papalists, charismatics, and Sea of Faith types, but mostly liberal/affirming Anglo-Catholics. I came somewhat close to becoming a priest.

Welcome aboard indeed, @Suffolk Rob! My late husband came from Colchester, which is very nearly in Suffolk, and we spent many happy afternoons driving round the Suffolk countryside and looking in churches (his favourite thing to do).
If you take a few minutes to check out the FAQ and 10 Commandments pages (links at the top of the Home page), they'll tell you all you need to know about what's what and who's who.

It suddenly occurs to me that being shortened to Rosa is far more appropriate than the alternative. "Rosa" always did refer to a colour anyway.
