@Boogie a belated thank you -I had trouble thinking up a name and at first wished I'd come up with something more 'cuddly' or witty but I can live with it now. @caroline444 a belated thank you for your kind welcome too.
And may I extend a whole-hearted welcome to fellow newbie shipmates @Timo Pax@Wanderer and @HagenTheDwarf . Fair winds! (and great names by the way)

Most kind. I trust your pressure will remain high for a long-time!
Hello from a city in the north of England. I have lurked for a while and admire the breadth of knowledge, wisdom and humour I have found here. I no longer want just to watch you sailing by but hope to make new discoveries by becoming a fellow traveller.
The 10 Commandments and FAQ links on the home page should tell you all you need to know about the Ship and the various boards - happy sailing with us!l
Having just read your post in Purgatory, I have now found your first post here, so I now know what your experience was. I shall be responding to your latest Purg post, but am having trouble with my computer - a new one!! - at the moment.
Hey everyone, it's been so long since I've been here that I had to have a couple of strong cups of coffee just to remember which name I was using! Fortunately, once I remembered that, my trusty ol' PC had my password saved, so it's all good.
Anyway, just to bring you up to date on my doings, I've been a Byzantine Catholic (similar to Eastern Orthodox, but part of the Roman church) since my marriage 12.5 years ago. I'm currently having what I euphemistically tell people is a "crisis of faith," by which I mean I'm no longer an unquestioning, conservative, traditionalist Catholic.
But I'll post more about that in a separate thread somewhere else. Meanwhile, just wanted to say hi! If I remember this place correctly, I'll find some understanding, sympathetic souls. Thanks for still being around!!
Welcome @windsofchange ! I am an Eastern Orthodox Christian, so we probably have a lot in common religion-wise. If you need anything I can give, please ask.
Once upon a time when I was at university I was active on the old boards, under the same name. Now I'm back 2 children and an MA later. Now in an A-C parish that is looking hopeful. (A new vicar and the first curate in donkeys years helps) And I'm no longer the youngest adult in the congregation!!!
Hi, back for a second visit after some time ashore. I was a bit confined to the Purgatory board last time, so I now intend to join in some of the other boards first :-)
Peace and love, see you around!
Hi, I have been lurking on this site for some time now and thought it would be good to join in some of the discussions from time to time.
I am a Lay Minister/Reader in the CofE with Permission to Officiate; semi-retired and working with my lovely wife who is a priest in looking after a small parish on the edge of Romney Marsh.
I take my ship name from a comment that was made by a priest friend about my poetry. Though coming from a low church background, my churchmanship has evolved over the years and I would consider myself to be "middle of the road". I have a very basic Celtic type spirituality, seeing God in creation, God incarnate through the person of Jesus Christ, and seeing the Holy Spirit at work through the Bible and through other people.
Hi Closet Druid -Welcome to the Ship. It sounds like you have an interesting perspective to offer. Speaking for myself, I've learned a lot about different people's beliefs on the Ship.
Welcome aboard, Closet Druid. Enjoy the voyage and look around especially in Hell before posting. I see you say you have been reading. That should help in deciding the board to post on. If you have a query, please ask a host.
If you take a few minutes to look at the 10 Commandments and FAQ pages (links on the home page), they'll tell you anything you need to know about what's what and who's who, and how the various boards work.

If you have any questions about the boards or who's who around here, the 10 Commandments and FAQ links on the home page should help.
Happy sailing!
Edited to add - also welcome to @Wanderer - missed your post at the top of the page.
