Please pray for my son-in-law S who has worrying symptoms, which numerous tests seem unable to diagnose.

@Lamb Chopped for you and the family member.

I've just received an email from my youngest brother K saying that our oldest brother G has been admitted to hospital and doesn't seem to be responding to anti=biotics. G also has Parkinsons which has steadily worsened over the last year.

    Praying!!

Please pray for Archie, who is in the ICU, and it is uncertain he will make it; his daughter and family are stuck at home due to a major snowstorm.

For @Lamb Chopped and relative, for healing of their breathing problems.

    For @RockyRoger's Pastor DE.

    For @Puzzler's son-in-law S and Grandson W.

    For @Huia's brother G.

For @ChastMastr's Archie, his daughter, and his family.

Today we learned that the Telemum has fluid in her lungs, which was not there yesterday (or perhaps just was not detectable). She is on furosemide, which she has hated in the past. Tomorrow they'll examine her again. Hoping she gets better and doesn't have to go into hospital.

Workload for me to get on with, yay

I am going on holiday next week, with orders to not arrange cover for church. I will let people know I am not around but that is not the same.

Update on Archie—his daughter is Jennie:

“Good morning. Just got the following bad news from Jennie:

“The palliative care nurse called Mom this morning. She says Dad may only have about 24 hours left. I'm going to try to drive with Mom to the hospital. I think the roads will be okay after we get up the hill.”

    Prayers definitely welcome.”

“Mom and all of us decided to take him off everything and they're going to give him a strong sedative to help him rest and pass in peace. Because he's struggling to breathe and very agitated.””

Ms. C has been experiencing increasing vertigo while driving over the last several months. It got so bad on Saturday that she went to a local hospital and saw a Nurse Practitioner Sunday. She has received a two week prescription ( it may or may not interact well with her BP medication.) exercises to do and a referral to physiotherapy re. the exercises, a referral for an audiology test, been told to have her ears irrigated, and the kicker told not to drive for awhile. She is only driver in the household. She has a phone appointment with our GP next week. She is most concerned because her mother, as part of her post-polio syndrome, had Meniere's Disease.

@Caissa, that’s very distressing. Hope it can be sorted out.

Prayers from here for us all
  • Seeing the doctor in a couple/three hours who is going to make a decision about whether I'm allowed to continue taking the chronic pain meds I desperately need, AND the psych meds he wants every patient in his clinic to come off of. Not for medical reasons--for "looking good in the eyes of the feds" reasons, I gather.

I hope you get the healthcare you require, LC.
  • He agreed!!!! Thanks be to God. He did warn me that the two meds taken together can cause breathing problems during sleep, so I'll avoid that, but hey, I'm so happy. Thank you for praying.

  • Okay, terrified again. My work has abruptly and with no warning reorganized, and the net effect is to put me under a division head who is the woman who betrayed me, broke confidentiality and forced me out of a job twenty years ago, getting me blackballed in my industry and leading to years of trouble for my family. Now she’s my grandboss. My PTSD is going nuts. HR said this wouldn’t happen… pray?
  • CaissaCaissa Shipmate
Have you spoken to HR about an alternative reporting structure?
  • I probably will, as soon as I can pull my wits together and stop being completely panicked.

For @Puzzler's Grandson W. For Kathy.

For @Jengie Jon's A(M), may light perpetual shine upon him. For A(F) to be comforted in her loss.

For @ChastMastr's Archie, his wife, and his daughter Jennie. For the repose of Archie's soul and for all who mourn him to be comforted.

For @Lamb Chopped and the family members. For everyone to get the healthcare they need, everywhere. For HR to put Lamb Chopped in an alternative reporting structure.

For @Huia's brother G, and for support for Huia and brother K.

    And what @Libs said.

For @Caissa's Ms. C, for healing. And for cover for all driving needs in the household.

So, the Telemum has/had fluid on her lungs, but they were telling me on Saturday that she's in absolutely great shape. Despite treatment for the fluid, her heart rate continues to increase, and she can only sleep two hours a night. This does not contribute to her feeling great. I'm quite worried about her tonight, but not in any actionable way. Waiting for advice from consultant.

Got work to do. Don't want to.
  • Praying, esp. for the Telemum! How scary.
  • Adding my prayers here, Lord bring comfort and mercy
  • 🙏🙏 Lord, we love and trust you. We are in your hands.

🙏🙏 In your mercy, hear our prayers and lift our burdens.

Your yoke is light. To serve you is a joy.

    Amen.

For @Lamb Chopped, peace be upon all at her workplace.

Yeah so the Telemum had a really bad night. The doctor came and said it was an infection, and that the infection was the thing blocking what had initially seemed like improvement; he prescribed antibiotics.

The nurse called and insinuated that maybe it's not an infection and that maybe this is just the way it's going to be.

I'd really just like her to get better.

Also I have to write a thing, and all this [gestures at surroundings] is not really helping.
