I have just heard that my long-time editor has died. From leukemia, which in all the years I've know him, he never divudged, even after the death of his wife. It's quite a shock. What a splendid fellow he was – always positive and cheerful, sharing nothing of his health condition. Puts my own winging and whining about my problems in perspective. May he, as we say in the COE) ‘Rest in peace and rise in glory'.

I would appreciate prayers. I've fallen into a black hole. It's a mixture of a couple of deaths (a brother and a close of over 30 years), a major operation, a sore foot making walking painful, and moving into winter.
In addition -and the straw that broke me was having to fill in a very detailed form where I have to collect and submit data from a variety of sources. Failure to do this will stop my government superannuation which is my sole source of income. I have a doctor's appt tomorrow and hope to get assistance with this task.

I missed the Citizen's Advice Bureau visit to a nearby library today, but have discovered my G.P's practice have a couple of people who can assist patients with things like this. I've made an appointment with my Doctor tomorrow, so I can access some help.
I may have to ring the Government department I will be dealing with to ask for a bit more time to complete everything.
I am going to photocopy everything in case it gets lost in the post, and also so I can use it as a reminder in case I have to provide similar info next year. In the past I have only been asked to provide these details once - and was paid an extra $4 a week as a result - which feels like a lot of work for $4,
I do realise they need to ensure people aren't ripping off the system, its mainly about the unfortunate timing.
Please pray for me. On Friday I am going to start a year alongside a religious community as part of discernment of a vocation. I have a lot of stuff to get done and am having to do things I do not want to do due to lack of time and make hard choices.
I will get there, friends are being very good but I could do with 72 hour long days.
And 🙏 for everyone, who, like me, doesn't know what to pray for or how to pray, and relies on the Holy Spirit groaning (as St Paul infelicitously puts it) on my behalf.
Prayers for @Jengie Jon for Friday. May the next few months be a fruitful time. @Huia, I'm so glad someone helped you get the form completed and its off in the post.
I'm off to Germany representing our lovely town at a twinning event. I'm excited and a little scared. Making speeches in a country where I don't speak the language will be a bit of a challenge.
Adding holy groans for all here. For moments of reprieve for all. For comfort and encouragement for all. Mrs RR and I have a Healing Sevice this evening and I will carry shipmates with me when I go up for blessing.
Also for my daughter A suffering alas with the familycurse of a deep depressive episode.
She sees her GP tomorrow and I hope, on Ascension Day, she and her beloved partner will be able to get the medication and support they need. A big prayer, I know!
LHM.
5:59 am. I’m just not physically capable of pulling an all nighter the way I was before years ago or even just a few years ago. I think I’m actually getting nauseated (not from dinner, from exhaustion) and desperately need to get some sleep so I sent an email to the person at this college over me and I’ve just got to get some sleep. I hope I will not get in trouble for being late with my grades, but I’ve got to get some sleep now. Prayers/good vibes welcome. Maybe I can get up after four hours and go back to grading, but I can’t go on any longer tonight.
Hey CM. Nausea and the hot-and-colds are sleep deprivation - get your head down and rest, you won't do yourself or the students any good if you don't.
I knew people who used to be weeks late with their marking, every year. It's tough, driving yourself to do it in good time - I used to find so, anyway. I folded 13 years ago, so I'm in awe of people of a similar age to me who can still keep it going. Do you find (when you're awake) that once you're in the zone, it's OK for a couple of hours and you can kind of speed up a bit? If you want to chat about this by PM feel free - I've been there. Prayers for you.

Thank you! I'm in the home stretch at 1:24 am here, and definitely no more all-nighters for me! Looking forward to bed once this last batch is done. I am very glad there was no issue with getting grades in late (they're done now) at the college from last night, nor the last college tonight (official due date/time for grades was technically 11:59 pm, so an hour and a half ago, and I called my supervisor and it will be OK even if I get them in tomorrow). (I'm an adjunct at multiple community colleges online, teaching composition...)
Yes, getting in the zone helps, and music definitely helps. Just graded with ELO's Time album playing, and now I think Styx Mr. Roboto or Grand Illusion.
Very tired (I only got 4 hours of sleep last night) but nothing like last night. Still, I think I can get the rest of these papers done, thank God.
After this, I want to get my life on a good healthy track. Prayers welcome for that too.

I am done with the Semester from Hell, and I never want to pull a grading all-nighter ever again...
And now, prayers for more classes for summer would be good. I only have two so far and may have to do a GoFundMe...
Prayers for all in the thick of marking.
I have a very tricky meeting this morning where I’m likely to have to disappoint someone who really needs help that isn’t in my gift to give. Prayers I handle it well. It’s at times like this I need my mum who would have known exactly what to say and have let them down in a way that would make them feel better.

We've heard that another one of our church members H may have been picked up for so-called deportation (really exile to a third country not his own) by ICE. Please pray for Mr Lamb as he tries to find and visit him, for H and his family.

Amen.

A cousin of mine J, is having complicated eye surgery. He's nervous about it. Please pray.

Thanks
I'm both thankful and relieved.

<votive> for all
They have a lot of IRL friends here in my home town who will want to know and pray with us for them.
