Just heard the hospital are discharging Huxley as he can be cared for best at home as they are so well set up for his needs and his care team are led by a nurse. Still a way to go but Thank God.
Thank you for your prayers
Catching up on this: I don’t know the kind of seizures your grandson has but I have occasional Tonic Clonic epileptic seizures. I have a real fellowship with everyone in similar situations, epilepsy or not as the causes and types are so varied.
🙏🙏🙏 Huxley, his family and carers in and out of hospital.

Huxley's seizures are as a result of catastrophic brain damage he sustained at birth. He has several different types including Tonic Clonic and all of them are drug resistant. This time he had one that would not stop and became life threatening. He was given a new drug (rescue medication) which finally worked but caused serious side effects.
Very scary but he is hopefully on the mend.
I wonder if I might ask for your prayers for my (not close) friend T_ - a man in his early 70s of no faith, who must undergo an operation on a brain tumour whose odds are 1/3 success, 1/3 death and 1/3 paralysis.
He told me about this today; we spent maybe 10 minutes discussing the situation frankly. I have his email, although as I mentioned, we are not close. If anyone in a position of pastoral responsibility or experience would like to PM me any thoughts on how to offer an ear for discussion about 'last things' to someone who probably has no one else religious to approach, but who might well not want such a discussion at all, I would be open to that. I don't want to fail him by saying nothing, but I also don't want to foist a conversation on him which is unwelcome. Perhaps just emailing that would be OK.

My guess is that as he has chosen to talk to you, just being you is what matters. I think your thoughts on how to handle it are on the mark.
If it were me (i.e. you can totally ignore this because it’s you not me), I’d say something along the lines of thank you for sharing with me, if he knows about your faith you can say something along the lines of “You’ll know I have a particular perspective on this…” and follow up with the kind of low-key offer you suggest. Happy to talk about it but don’t want to hoist it on you. And I’d say “I will be praying for you.”
That lets him know that as a person of faith you’re taking it and him and his situation seriously.
Well, one procedure (endoscopy) down and one (colonagraphy) to go day after next. Much time for prayer* and human interaction. PTL.
It went OK without sedation (who's a big brave boy then?). Biopsies were taken with results 'in eight weeks(!)'. No cup of tea and biscuits though.
* not very focussed but heartfelt nevertheless.
Could I ask for prayer for our middle grandaughter M who has a job interview tomorrow?
Yikes. I saw the screen for mine, but was so doped up that I merely thought, "That's interesting," and went back to la la land. (I told them so later, and they made sure to put me more deeply under.) Your people sound inhumane!
Asking for your prayers as we in South Africa go through an unprecedented wave of violent xenophobia countrywide and it has affected us badly here in my country town with so many undocumented farm workers living in fear. (Link from Al Jazeera for those wanting to know more)

A friend in his eighties has let us know that he has had a colonoscopy and he has been told that it “looks like bowel cancer”. Biopsies have been taken and he says he’s at peace, but I doubt his wife and family are. Over to the NHS and the Lord.
Just had my colonoscopy (a CT 'virtual' one, BTW. The preprep was horrid, the procedure less so). Went without alarums (apart from the interesting and tuneful windy-pops afterwards), but no comments were made. Into your hands, O lord!
A bit of an update on Sammy, my grandson. As you may recall, I had asked for prayers because he contracted RSV as an infant and it had eaten the ball socket of his one leg. They still do not know how they will repair it, but they have been doing physical therapy with the goal of getting him to stand and walk. Well, today he stood up not holding on to anything. He really thought that was fun. He kept sitting down and then standing up. Still has yet to walk but that is not that far away now.
Can some of you pray for Mrs Sioni’s knee. And her hip, and her hands, but especially her knee which a) hurts, b) doesn’t bend and c) makes movement and even standing difficult.
It’s basically arthritis, but it’s got a lot worse after last week’s holiday walking more than we usually do.
She has taken it to the minor injuries unit at the town hospital, an alternative to A&E.

Mrs Sioni is back. She’s a bit peeved that because there was no injury as such, just a clear worsening of a condition, she couldn’t have an X-ray. However, the doctor she saw advised her to get one through our GP and gave a weeks supply of a strong anti inflammatory.
She’s sitting ok, but moving and standing are tough, so kitchen, cleaning etc duties are all mine.

Continuing prayers for all the Beakys, especially Little Beaky.

Sad news - 🕯, she was a stalwart of old-school SoF and unfailingly lovely.

For @mark_in_manchester 's friend T
For @ChastMastr 's friend David G
For all in need of prayer

Praying for you and yours.
Yup, sure do. You can get a even sneak at the screen from time to time!
Please keep praying for the healing of my feet.
I was awake, unsedated, watching the screen and chatting with the nurse about televised sport.
My report described the procedure as 'well tolerated'.
Also depression today.
Praying. The Big D is difficult to endure, though endure we must. LHM
