You have to laugh. Mr. Image is now seeing things, and dreaming while awake. He severed 6 years in the US Coast Guard. Today he asked me to get the navy sailors off of his boat. He wanted to know who let them on, they do not know what they are doing he said.
You do indeed have to laugh @Graven Image. Sometimes it’s the only way to get through. I’ve made a point to let my kids see me laugh at various things with their grandparents. (Never mean laughter, of course.) And I’ve told them I want them to see me laughing so that when the time comes that they’re dealing with me, they’ll know it’s okay to laugh, and that I’d be laughing too, if I could.

Yes, you do have to laugh. When my dad was in the hospice he thought he was back on the boat where he trained army officers on his way to the Korean War. He told me he was very happy to see me but also asked why the heck I was on the boat!
People in the medical profession need to listen to patients, mothers, and wives. Thankfully I spoke up until they heard me. Mr. Image one remaining kidney is failing. (I told you so). He is fairly comfortable, and receiving meds he needs.
Mr. Image is in his final days. He is resting quietly and does not seem in any pain. Thankful to morphine and Hospice care, he was able to say good-bye to his children and grandchildren.
My son is doing really well after bilateral orchidectomy for bilateral testicular cancer at age 32. Awaiting result of histology to find out if chemotherapy is recommended.
