I've just put this on the prayer thread, but I think it should go here as well - Rossweisse's friend L has emailed to say that the surgery went well and the surgeon's optimistic that it will do what it needs to do and spare her the pain. I hope she'll be here herself before too long!
Well, actually, I’m still in hospital, slumped in a chair, and I’m very woozy and tired. (The nurse here in ICU had to shift me once an hour all night, apologizing every time.)
My back hurts, but not as badly as it did when the pain management specialist was attempting to pound a needle into my spine - and this time the pain in my leg seems to have been eliminated. Deo gratias!
That's what we've been waiting for! Good news. I hope you can get your hands on this week's New Yorker, https://www.newyorker.com/magazine. The cover has a certain resonance in this time of plague.
Yes! I can’t decide which makes me happier—the news that the surgery seems to have gone well, or just hearing from @Rossweisse in and of itself. Deo gratias indeed!
Thank you! The Orneries have been working hard, but successfully; they’re roosting around the room (using their invisibility powers), and seem pleased with themselves. Good birds!
Lovely to hear from you, @Rossweisse, and may the back soon stop hurting and the leg pain remain totally eliminated. So glad your bravery in assenting to that very scary surgery has been vindicated. Let the trumpets sound!
Knowing that Ross was having surgery, and seeing such a large number of comments appear since I was last here, I guessed it was either good news or bad. So happy it's good news, Ross. Thanks to Margaret for being the initial bearer of the happy news, and so glad to hear from you. May you keep on kicking that tin can (or tin cat, remembering my last typo!) down the road as far as it goes! God be with you, dear one.

It's like when someone trends on Twitter and you don't know why. Glad to see Rossweisse trending in the positive direction!
Ross is having terrible pain tonight, which the ibuprofen and tylenol aren't helping. Please pray???? I'm posting this to the prayer thread as well, at her request.

O dear - and everything sounded so positive after the op. Do please keep us all posted.
My youngest daughter (mother of Little Beaky) passed the 10th anniversary of her cancer diagnosis this year and whilst giving thanks that she is still with us, I have been praying for all who post here. You are on my mind and in my heart.
I don't know, but perhaps should mention that surgery causes its own pain, so we'd better not assume things about whether the op worked as it was meant to.
Rossweisse is in the emergency room right now with severe pain, but mostly NOT in the leg, which is good, for what it's worth. Also a small wheeze, God knows why. I will keep you posted as she lets me know (she has given permission).

Fingers crossed for @Robert Armin's scan results.
Gratitude and rejoicing that the op went so well for @Rossweisse

Yes, I was wondering, too.
We just hope and pray that the pain - whatever its source - soon subsides!
