I haven't had any concrete news about my scan, but I'm getting a phone call on Thursday. This I take to mean there is nothing wrong; when there is, the medics get in touch very fast.

That is so, but it makes one wonder why, if the news is good , they can't tell you that straightaway as well!
I work on that principle too Robert Armin - it's how I found out about my metastases; called in to the family Doctor as After Last Appointment of the Day on the morrow after a standard post-pneumonia check-up at the local hospital!
I think they put all the "OK, no change" scans in a pile and the juniors write them up one by one but not under any real time pressure
Amen. I hope we hear from @Rossweisse again soon...
Meanwhile @Robert Armin - I hope you feel better as the day goes by, that the winds will subside, and that the Cat (a Feline Minister To The Sick?) is soon safely on terra firma again...
Rossweisse is improving, though slowly. She says the pain is much better than last week, but the surgical pain is still there and there is some new stuff. The leg pain, however, is mainly fixed, thank God! She says the Feline Ministry to the Sick is in top form. She hopes to hear some special music at church tomorrow.
This is going slowly, but it’s going. There are some problems with getting my meds straightened out (I suspect that there may be too many medical cooks stirring the pot, as well my having to make some decisions about what’s safe and effective at 2 a.m. when I’m in pain and can’t sleep), but I will work this out. Tomorrow I get my stitches out; on Tuesday I will have a shower (I am not a fan of sponge baths), and wash my hair! properly.
This hasn't been a great day. Shortly after I posted this morning I started coughing up blood. After that I went back to bed and didn't get downstairs until 4pm.
Cancer is seriously strange. When I was getting bad news, I felt fine. Now I'm told everything is stable, and I feel rough. What is going on?
I saw the neurosurgeon today for my follow up visit. He is very pleased with himself and his work (as well he might be), but says that he has no idea why I’m having such awful pain in my ribs. Really? I guess it’s going to be my job to figure out how to deal with it.
Perhaps I need an antidote to my anecdotes, but there's one about Abraham Lincoln that I keep remembering, and think belongs right here in this thread.
One of Lincoln's staff admonished him for making a joke during a particularly difficult period of the Civil War, to which he responded:
"Weighed down by the fearful strain that is upon me night and day, if I did not laugh I should die."

Glad to hear the good news.

Typical cat. They lose their dignity and blame YOU.
Prayers continuing for @Rossweisse.
How are things going for you @Robert Armin ?

Robert Armin, any news?
As for me, apparently everything is stable, which is good. But I ache a lot and have no energy, which isn't a great deal of fun.
Keep on keeping on!

"Well, that's not really my field", he thought to himself.

For all in need of prayer
