I have corresponded with @Robert Armin via the Ship off and on since sometime in the early 2000s, and I had the pleasure of meeting him in person when I travelled to the UK in 2009. He is charming, and fun, and kind -- the best of good company. If you're reading, know that I am thinking of you constantly.

Yep. All of that. We became friends when he first joined the Ship some 20 years ago, met up in real life and stayed in touch over the years. He's unique.
If you're reading, I'm very glad we managed to meet up in London in March for the Van Gogh exhibition. You weren't well then, but it was good to be able to spend time with you none the less, before lockdown and Covid restrictions kicked in. Whatever they may impose, out of sight is certainly not out of mind.
Prayers for ease for @Robert Armin a Shipmate whose writings have always engaged, even if I have never had the privilege of meeting him in real life to find out if that followed through.
Thank you to all those who prayed for Robert and wished him well. I know that he valued the support and friendship he found on these boards highly. On his behalf, thank you for being there for him. He is at peace now, and out of pain; he passed away last night.
Very sorry to hear that, and thanks very much for letting us know Ariel. I always enjoyed reading Robert's posts, and remember him as a long-time Shipmate though under Ship names I no longer remember. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
That pretty much sums it up. I was afraid this is what I’d find then I saw how many new posts were in this thread.
I’m glad his suffering is done, but I shall miss him very much.
I’ll post again the prayer I posted at Rossweisse’s death. They fit Robert Armin, too.
O God,
before whom generations rise and pass away,
we praise you for all your servants
who, having lived this life in faith,
now live eternally with you.
Especially we thank you for your servant The Wanderer/Robert Armin,
whose baptism is now complete in death.
We praise you for the gift of his life,
for all in him that was good and kind and faithful,
for the grace you gave him,
that kindled in him the love of your dear name,
and enabled him to serve you faithfully.
We thank you that for him death is past and pain ended,
and that he has now entered the joy you have prepared;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
If I recall correctly Robert's first name was Hugh and it was under that name he first boarded the ship. There are a few ship names I recall from the previous millennium. His is one.
I am so sorry to hear this, but glad for @Robert Armin. As I say at some funerals, our grief is not for Robert/Hugh, for he is safe with God. Our grief is for ourselves, for we shall miss him.

Oh... I liked Robert Armin (Huw) and will miss his kindness and gentle humour. I'll cherish his great comment just a few weeks ago about funeral music - he wanted 'The Arrival of The Queen of Sheba". I've been chuckling over that happy memory of him and retelling it ever since.

Rest in peace, dear friend.
Thanks for letting us know. It's much appreciated.
Rest in peace, brother.
Thank you, Ariel.
For all who grieve 🕯
For some time he was The Wanderer, before changing to Robert Armin.
MMM
RIPARIG Robert, and thank you @Ariel for your care.

May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
Rest in peace Robert Armin.
No more fear or pain, just perpetual light and calm

Huw, actually.
Thanks to Ariel for caring for him (and us).
