Tomorrow, my friend Florence turns 100 years old!! Her daughter has prepared a party for her in the facility where Florence lives. We will have food, cake, sparkles and fun; all things that are among Florence's favorite things!
This is very exciting!!
Thank you for your kind birthday messages! I'll share them with Florence tomorrow! She'll be very excited to know that she has greetings from various parts of the world!! She was quite the traveler in her day and has told me about her trips to Great Britain and Australia and so many other places. Happy memories for her!
I told Florence that she would find a card with greetings from all of you, from all over the world! She was thrilled, and told me that she had traveled to most of those places (which of course, I already knew!!!) and it made her so very happy to remember those favorite times of her long life!
This was a mostly Methodist tea total group! Florence is the daughter of a Methodist pastor and was married and widowed to two Methodist pastors! I don't think champagne ever touched her lips!!
@MaryLouise - so sorry to hear of your loss - 48 is way too young. May he rest in peace.
Congratulations, Cathscats and Mr. Cathscats! A couple of friends of ours in Newfoundland posted on FB today that it's their 20th anniversary, so you've obviously picked a good day.
My brother in Chicago is amazing, he always seems to manage to get a present to arrive on the exact day. I now have a large towel shaped like a cat's head with a tabby cat's face printed on it. It's microfibre so it will dry quickly, which I appreciate given that it's a challenge getting towels dry in winter.
As always, it's not the presents themselves, but the thoughtfulness behind them, a friend bought and delivered wood pellets for Aroha's litter boxes. He has a practical turn of mind.
I've spent a lot of the day having fun with a large brush-cutter clearing a choked drainage ditch with a friend. Then the usual two-and-a-half hour rehearsal.

In the UK when you turn 100, you get a telegram from the Queen; Florence won't have to get a tweet from the Chief Twit, will she?

So, unfortunately, I can't use that as an excuse!
I'm assuming not at the same time?
Pigwidgeon, you are correct!

Bravi, Cathscats!
His explanation - "Because it give NZ Post time to find it again if they lose it."

Puts the rows of presidents, premiers and party leaders into perspective.
Wow. Respect.

Now sitting enjoying a wee drink ...
