Thank you all for your prayers. I’m a long way from better, but I am alive - and very much aware of the news. (Deo gratias!) I should start chemo tomorrow. It’s inpatient; I’m to get an infusion on the first day, after which the doctors will watch to make sure it’s all cleared from my system.
This will continue every other week: a week at home, and a week at the Center for Advanced Waiting. I have until late November, or possibly a month longer. We shall see. (Thank you for seeing to the feeding of the Orneries, Amos; many thanks to LC for all her help.) (ETA Thanks to ThunderBunk for the soul-rending singing by Dame Janet, I needed to hear that.)
What a lovely surprise to see you here, Rossweisse! I am SO glad you were aware of the news, something I know you hoped for many months ago. Take care of yourself, and keep going! You continue in my morning intercessions and more.
Love,
Pigwidgeon
Dear @Rossweisse what a joy to hear your voice in this place. I send you the quotation from Siloan the Athonite that comforted Gillian Rose in her last months: 'Keep your mind in hell and despair not.' Prayers ascending with my love.
@Rossweisse, it is such a delight to see that winged helmet appear. I pray for you daily; sometimes it's part of intentional prayers and sometimes it pops up at random moments, but thoughts of you are always nearby. Your faith, strength, and tenacity continue to be a light. God is holding you gently.

Talked to Rossweisse, and if she can get a certain number up, or down, or into its proper range, anyway, they will let her go home Friday to her kitties. Please pray.
Our younger daughter Lisa begins chemotherapy for breast cancer tomorrow. Therapy - chemo-radio and hormonal will last a year. A rough year. She is in good spirits and has support from her husband and church (and, she says her dogs, cats and fish). But we cannot see her or be with her. We can only talk on the phone and pray.
So any spare prayers are most welcome!
